Scrabulous is an application in facebook where you can play scrabble with others. As i’ve never played scrabble before, I am fascinated by this app. For those who have not heard about scrabble before, this page should suffice.The website is also pretty good and responds quickly. Unlike Orkut, you need not wait for ages waiting for the page to load.There are loads of other applications as well.

If you feel like playing scrabble, here is the link.If you can’t find anyone to play with, you can send an invite to me. Another thing is that you can continue the game whenever you can manage.

All these days i am constantly thinking about a topic to blog. When i arrive at a topic worth blogging(btw .. what is the dividing line ?) , i’ll say to myself “not today!, some other day perhaps” and the perennial cycle continues. The aforementioned two sentences should be adequate to explain the hibernation.

Sidney Sheldon’s “Tell me your dreams” is my first novel which introduced me to the wonderful hobby of reading novels. I’ve read around 10 works of Sheldon afterwards but they are no match for the first one. Over a period of time, I am fed up with his books because the plots are more or less the same and predictable(I am referring to those female centred ones) . I think you guys are informed enough to guess why i am blabbering about Sidney Sheldon all of a sudden. For the uninitiated, he passed away on January’ 31.

So,the exams are over.4th sem is over.Back to blogging.All these days whenevr I open the book or prepare to study I’ll remember something that I should do after exams .. so I kept a “todo.after” file in my 200 and kept on updating that.

.lit and .pdb file formats are generally used for ebooks.The purpose of using these formats is – since there are so many formats changing everyday like word, pdf etc, we need some format(easily convertable ones)  to store the ebooks for a longer duration.
for .pdb files : one can use kpalmdoc in linux.The GUI is friendly enough.You need to tell the path of the .pdb file and the name of .txt file.I could not find any working software in windows for opening these.
for .lit files : .lit files can be opened in windows with the help of Microsoft Reader.Reader looks very nice. To open these files in linux you need to download this package. Unzip it , untar it.You’ll have a directory ‘the_clit’

$ cd the_clit;
$ cd lib; make
$ cd ../clit12 ; make ;

now to convert a file issue this command

$ ./clit12 file.lit non_existing_directory/

the backslash (/) incase of non_existing_directory.This creates a few images in the directory we specified along with a file.opf file and file.htm.file.htm can be read from a browser.

Can somebody tell some links from where I can freely download ebooks?.I tried google but it is giving the sites where I need to pay for them.

to tell you the truth, I don’t have the slightest idea of what ‘nerd’ means.I just found this when I am going through nirupam pratap’s blog.The blog is very interesting.

Just completed reading the novel Disclosure by Michael Crichton(he is the author of Jurrasic Park and The Lost World).The book is awesome.somebody told me that ‘aitraaz’ movie is made from that novel.I returned it to library after reading,so If you are lucky enough you can find it.

names of the tools used:
Trozan Netbus for doing things in remote machine.This requires installation of server version and client version on victim’s computers respectively.
revolution – to find out passwords that are typed in password field.It works only on IE.
There is some crack with smtp server.need to do some telnet 25 or something like that.I am not sure about the syntax.One can send mails using this to others.
Snow – a steganography tool.Steganography means storing files as images or text files etc.
http://anonymizer.com and http://www.anonymizer.ru to access blocked sites.For the present the only use I can think of is megaupload.

since all tools are freely available on the net you’ll be able to get them.The advertisement at the end irritated me.Since I am sitting in the last row,the juniors falling on me and shouting kinda irritated me.
